I must have been under a rock when Madonna released her newest album on iTunes in a gapless format. (See, Melissa, I mentioned Madonna)
I only just read about it in Macworld today (woah, news from a printed magazine?). A gapless formatted album points to Apple and Artists’ recognition that the iPod’s grand canyon of slience slight pause between songs just ain’t gonna cut it. I’d thought Apple was planning to use the chapter markers frequently used in ‘enhanced’ Podcasts as a solution– and I hope that they do in the end…but I’ll settle for the admission that ‘gaps suck’, for now.
