Life’s nice ahead of the curve
So remember the other day, I posted about VPN’s and why you oughta use one? (So what if I didn’t tell you how- cut a man some slack, I’m really just getting into it myself) Check this out:
TUAW shows you how
Derman show you IPSecuritas (it’s a VPN app)
MacLive.net shows you how to setup VPN access with OS X server
I feel like it’s 1999 all over again–back when a basic Linksys router cost 259.99, and cable modems were just starting to come into view on the horizon. I was the first in our group of friends to try to setup a network, and after realizing that a) just plugging an ethernet cable between two machines wasn’t going to cut it and b) IPShare and other software routing apps were waaaay beyond my comprehension, I started to search for tutorials. After a few articles on CNet (read over and over to ingrain the terms being used) all this home networking stuff started to make sense.
Can’t help but feel like this will be the same type of learning curve, read up, learn the terms, check out the brands, purchase a couple dud routers, and eventually settle upon a nice setup.
