3rd time ’s the charm
So I’m now on my 3rd Black MacBook.
It’s cool and all to have the latest and greatest gear…but just remember, the pioneers were the ones with arrows in their back…
As an early adopter you have the privilege of discovering bugs, issues and problems– usually before the tech support teams are briefed or even vaguely aware that there are problems.
My first MacBook would crash when waking from sleep, got hotter than a griddle, and had a dead USB port (the 2nd one, towards the back of the machine).
My second had flaky paint– and well…that’s really all that was wrong. But still, $1500 for a computer in need of Head and Shoulders?
Why am I not pissed off? 4 words –The Apple Store Hingham– a big thank you to the Hingham Apple store is definitely deserved. They didn’t design these machines, and might not be intimately aware of each and every little issue popping up on the discussion.apple.com forums, but they sure as hell do their best to support their customers, and have now 3 times replaced my machine– instead of forcing me to send it in for repair.
I appreciate it guys, thanks.
Ouch. That sucks. Chris’s having the same problems or just yours?
I’ve been the only one with the hardware issues as far as I know.
Again tho, I’ve been pretty fortunate with the way that I’ve been treated through out.
Good thing you didn’t get a white one. Then you might have plastic case color issues as well.
Yeah, I’ve never really been a fan of the white iBook look. Scratches like a mofo. I mean, if that’s all they’d offered I’d probably have bought it…but with the option for powerbook black…
